PWT Italy’s dominance at the Veneto Sprint Championship
Right on home ground, the Vicenza team confirms its supremacy at the regional level by winning a rich booty with 6 golds, 3 silvers and 1 bronze.
In Veneto on Sprint distance there are no doubts: PWT Italy confirms itself as the absolute protagonist of the Veneto Sprint Individual and Relay Championship, organized by Vicenza Orienteering Team ASD, which was held on Sunday, April 21 in the historic center of Vicenza, completely closed to traffic on the occasion of World Earth Day.
The challenge saw the individual race take place in the morning, accompanied by excellent weather conditions, made particularly fast and exciting thanks to a very sliding track.
In the men’s Elite category, en plein of PWT Italia with the trio consisting of the newly crowned regional champion Mattia Debertolis, followed on the podium by Pietro Palumbo and Fabio Amadesi. Among the Elite women, an important double with the new regional champion Caterina Dallera and Jessica Lucchetta, followed by Giada Corso of the Fonzaso ASD. Also in the Age Group great satisfaction for General Manager Gabriele Viale with the golds won by Celeste Pretto in the W16 category and Francesco Scalzotto in the M18.
In the afternoon, the Relay was marked by a sudden change in the weather, with cold wind and pouring rain, which, however, did not dampen the enthusiasm and spirit of healthy competition among the athletes. As many as two PWT teams made the podium: Jessica Lucchetta, Fabio Amadesi and Mattia Debertolis snatched first place from the team, also PWT Italy, composed of Caterina Dallera, Pietro Palumbo and Pierantonio Pretto. Bronze medal is went to the the Erebus Orientamento Vicenza ASD team, consisting of Maria Zebele, Michele Franco and Michele Bittarello. Another title was also won in the MW 20 category Relay thanks to Celeste Pretto, Francesco Scalzotto and Alessandro Bedin.
