“MOC Mediterranean Open Championship Orienteering” 2024.

In the characteristic historic center in the Cilento Park in Campania, you are
the 19th edition of the “MOC Mediterranean Open Championship Orienteering” took place.
Over 100 elite athletes, representing 10 nations, will be at the start with the prestigious presence
of the multiple world champion the Swede Tove Alexandersson, also champion of
Skyrunning and ski mountaineering. The event was preceded by a training camp coordinated by the Norwegian national team coach Janne Salmi, in collaboration with PWT Italia and
the Agropoli Orienteering Klub.
The municipalities involved in this edition were: Castelcivita, Trentinara, Roccadaspide, Eboli, and Agropoli.
The finals of the MOC Championships took place in two rounds respectively in Santa Maria di Castellabate and Castellabate on 22 and 23 March. The Deputy Mayor of. attended the awards ceremony Castellabate Dr. Luigi Mauraro, together with the representatives of the AOK Florio Rosa board, Faniglione Antonio and Di Giaimo Luigi.

Ukrainian Olena Babych (Ukraine), who preceded the Danish Agervig Malin e
in third place the Estonian Evely Kaasiku. In the men’s field, the victory went to the Finnish Seppa Touko, ahead of his compatriot Oksanen Teemu and the Swiss Tino Polsini
The Italians of the Park World Tour Italia did well, with Jessica’s 4th place in Catellabate
Lucchetta just one step away from the podium, 5th for Mattina Debertolis, 7th for Caterina Dallera, and 10th for Giulia Dissette.
Also present at the training sessions was the other PWT Italia Juniors Fabio Amadesi and the supervisor Pietro Palumbo.

The Mediterranean Orienteering Championship sets the opening of the season
of orienteering worldwide, also thanks to the favorable climate that characterizes the regions of Southern Italy already in early March, when in the leading orienteering nations – Nordic countries – are still in this period covered by snow.
Campania had already hosted the 2017 and 2019 editions in these locations. The “MOC
