An area increasingly devoted to sport, which is preparing to inaugurate a 2023 season full of unmissable events of enormous social, tourist and economic value. The municipality and the province of Vicenza will be the protagonists of a year dedicated to passion, hospitality and sustainability, themes of the conference “Major sporting events in Vicenza: economic impact and internationality”, organized by PWT Italy on Saturday 4th February at the Salone Nobile of Palazzo Chiericati in Vicenza, from 10.30AM to 12PM.
The speeches were introduced by greetings from Roberto Ciambetti, President of the Veneto Regional Council, Giulia Busato, Councilor with responsibility for sport of the Province of Vicenza, and Matteo Celebron, Deputy Mayor and Councilor with responsibility for sporting activities of the Municipality of Vicenza. Numerous institutional, associative and entrepreneurial representatives will take part in the meeting, including the Vice President of the Colli Berici Golf Club Alessandro Belluscio.
The deep link between sport and territory will be demonstrated through the history and identity heritage of symbolic events in the Vicenza landscape. Matteo Meggiolaro will illustrate the great classic of Italian trail running Ultrabericus Trail scheduled for March 18th, while Paolo Noaro the XXI edition of the traditional Stravicenza running challenge scheduled for March 19th.
It will then be the turn of Mauro Gazzerro for the multiday orienteering events 5 Days of Italy and Angelo Furlan for the Via de Berici, the reference bike festival for the two-wheeled community from September 29th to October 1st. In closing, Gabriele Viale will talk about the European Orienteering Championships, valid as the final of the World Cup, for the first time in Italy from October 1st to 8th.
