Enjoy 5 days of orienteering in beautiful Sicily, tasting the flavors of Italy and experiencing the island’s fascinating history. The event center at Domina Zagarella will offer you a relaxing holiday in typical Italian style in the heart of the Mediterranean.

In Italy, even autumn is synonymous with sun, sea, and excellent food! From 9th to 13th October, to conclude the 2023 season, conquer your oasis of well-being and fun with 5 Days Domina Zagarella Sicily, in the Porticello bay between Palermo and Cefalù.

You will be able to challenge yourself with training and races over various distances, designed for young and more experienced orienteers, in truly wonderful locations each one with its diversity. You will also be able to savor the experiences of the most authentic Sicily in a corner of Mediterranean scrub lying on the sea, between history and modernity.

On Monday 9th October Porticello historic center, famous for the Scoglio della Formica which, with its 60 meters of depth, has become the home of numerous marine animal and plant species. An ideal destination for snorkelers and diving lovers, just a few meters from the race arena.

On Tuesday 10th October, however, we will immerse ourselves in the Madonie Regional Natural Park, a pearl of the UNESCO World Geoparks list. This botanical paradise, with more than half of the species present in Sicily and about 150 endemic specimens, will captivate you with the smells of its wild mushrooms and the intense colors of the forest foliage.

The following day we will move to the Parco della Favorita, in front of the Monte Pellegrino, which represents the Palermo green lung with its 400 hectares of extension. On 12th October, however, the race will be staged in the Bosco della Ficuzza in Corleone, the largest green area in western Sicily. Here you will admire holm oaks, cork oaks, and the cerreto forest; rocky areas will alternate to wet marshes, small source rivers, open prairies and yellow pastures.

Grand finale in the enchanting medieval village on the sea of ​​Cefalù, Friday 13 October: its Cathedral has been declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO, among the most representative monuments of Arab-Norman art in Sicily. Discovering the ancient center thanks to orienteering will be really exciting and will lead you to run between the traditional fishermen’s houses and the old port with its picturesque boats.
